Hello! I'm Jainy...

Welcome to my page! I am a self-taught artist from Maryland who specializes in colorful and whimsical paintings and illustrations. I tend to find inspiration in everything around me; but especially the beauty of nature, the wisdom of great poets and scripture, as well as my rich South Indian heritage. And in case you didn't notice already, I find SO much joy in flowers.

If you think about it, is there any occasion where flowers are NOT welcome? And floral art doesn't wilt away!

Alongside my floral art, I also enjoy delving into the world of whimsical mixed media illustrations, meditative doodling and graphite drawings. When I'm not lost in the world of art, you'll probably find me on the pickleball court, enjoying some friendly competition, or in the kitchen, whipping up some delicious baked treats.

1.Papaya grosses me out.

2. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. My studio is filled with little trinkets from the magical wizarding world and I am ALWAYS down for an HP movie marathon. RAVENCLAW, here!

3. My favorite art tool is my HAND/FINGERS. I may own fancy brushes but something is so satisfying about finger painting and smudging. Toddlers have the right idea.

4. One of my favorite sayings: "Failure is NOT the opposite of success. Failure is success, in progress." This is how I keep going and trying new things. Like Einstein says, "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new."

5. My path to becoming an artist has been FILLED with various experiences. I've been a math tutor, a customer service rep, a pharmacy tech, an elementary school teacher and MORE. But I've found art to be the most fulfilling.

6. I'm a proud member of the Cloud Appreciation Society on Facebook. Join...totally worth it

7. I once had a dentist appointment where they discovered 16 cavities. (Yes, I brush my teeth regularly. PSA - Floss your chompers!)

8. I find cookies and tea to be excellent fuel for creativity.

9. I love thunderstorms and rainstorms. The term for this is pluviophile; I'm that.

10. My philosophy on life and in art: We live in a world where neutrality is considered easiest/"safest". Take a stand and don't be afraid of colors. If your life isn't a little messy...are you really living?

Now you know about me...
